Message However, for most upper-end cars, the dealers are the place to go. Most of the time, people avoid the dealer because the service is unacceptable. But high-end cars usually have better service, as they cater to more business-oriented people.

Name brands such as Porsche, Infiniti, Lexus, and Cadillac, just to name a few, also have special equipment that only the dealers have. It is too costly for a private shop to buy that equipment unless the said shop specializes in a certain vehicle. And even then, most of the time, the shop will have to have been certified with the manufacturer.

This special equipment allows the manufacturer to diagnose problems more efficiently. In this case, the only reason why I would avoid these places is their pricing.
